Burton pair celebrate town’s creative flair

A rapidly growing marketing agency in Burton has welcomed the town’s creative flair as it takes on extra local staff to keep up with demand.

Davies Scothorn, which was set up by two Burton friends – Blair Davies and Gavin Scothorn – in 2015, focuses on delivering creative design solutions which make businesses stand out from the crowd with a clear focus on driving increased return on investment.

The duo, who have over 30 years of experience in the industry working with large corporations including Shell, Intel and Hyundai, have always been committed to growing talent in their hometown and are pleased to have found a “gem” of a designer to add to the growing team.

Sophie Quain, 24, of Willington is the latest addition to the team as the creative and project lead has been taken on to support with the creation of websites, branding, corporate videos and events.

The team are now looking for a Business Development Manager as they are set to further grow their consultancy capabilities over the coming months offering first class consultancy advice to help businesses supersede their growth goals and reach their potential.

“Over the next three years we would love to see the core staff numbers more than double with future opportunities for apprenticeships and to support the area’s budding creatives,” said Blair, Managing Director at Davies Scothorn.

“Growing up in the town we always wanted to make sure that our business supported local talent and we have never been disappointed when recruiting.

“We never specifically look for someone local and look to recruit from across the country. However, time and again local talent has really shone on interview and Sophie is a real gem. She has so much experience and brings a new dynamic to the team.”

Sophie, who gained a first-class Fashion Communication and Promotion degree at Nottingham Trent University, has spent the last few years working in a video production company as a Creative Producer.

“I am really enjoying my new role at Davies Scothorn,” said Sophie. “I was looking for a role that would give me the opportunity to be creative while also focus on building client relationships and producing work we’re really proud of.”

Davies Scothorn now has a team of 12 designers, developers and photographers around the globe and work with everything from design, brand, strategy, digital and web design to social media, SEO and photography.
